Is blood quantum going to be our downfall?

My kids used to laugh at me when they were teenagers because I used to tell them to date other natives of their tribe.  They would try to accuse me of being racist, a hater of love, and other assorted names I will spare you of knowing.  Actually, I am not a hater of love. I love love in fact, and the way it makes you feel when it first happens is so exciting and fresh and you are always shivering with anticipation when the object of your affection is near.  Then there is the old love that you feel years later.  The comfortable and safe love of knowing you will never be alone and be safe and protected from all abuse and hurt.  But I digress. 
     The reason I felt that way about sticking to your own kind is for the pure and simple fact that if we don't maintain our native blood in some tribal nations, we will lose funding from the government and a host of other rights we as native people gained with some of our tribal treaties with the government.  Some of them being hunting and fishing rights and other sovereign issues I will not go into just yet.  How could this happen you ask? Well, say my son falls in love with a non native of our tribe and he has 1/4 blood and to be on our tribes rolls you must have that number.  Then they have children and those children do not make the rolls because the beautiful young lady doesn't have any blood to offer and next thing you know their children have no legacy but decendancy passed down to them.  So the cycle goes on and on. Now I am not clear on the math and all, but I do know that with each new relationship and baby in mixed marriages/relationships there is a definite drop in blood quantum.  I am against this as I feel it was a tool from the government to eliminate and end our treaties with the government once and for all. 
     I wish I didn't have to think this way. I would prefer to let things go naturally in a relationship rather than be so technical and unromantic regarding the courtship process.  I was just thinking about how the government got over on us once again. What solutions are out there to this situation? should tribes lower their blood quantum levels so that decendants can be enrolled or should the enrollment process be abandoned altogether? And what will the consequences to that be? Let me know what you think!
